Ermanno Nason

Master Glassmaker Murano

Ermanno Nason, was born in Murano in 1928.

Raised in a family of famous glass masters, he enters the furnace at the age of 9 and passes the teacher at only 18 years old.

From the beginning of his career he has shown a talent in the execution of human and animal figures.

From 1952 to 1957 he was a "first-rate master" at the Vetreria Mazzega, opens then its own furnace and works for a few years in partnership with his brother-in-law Scarpa in the VAM

From the 1964 to the 1972 works at the famous Vetreria Cenedese, and from 1973 to 1992 sets up his own business by founding “Arte Ermanno Nason”.

Her notoriety is inextricably linked to collaboration with the "Center for Painters Studies in the Art of Glass" founded in 1951 by Egidio Costantini, then renamed "The Forge of the Angels". In these years he will collaborate with the best artists of the time asking them for drawings and projects to be made in glass in Murano.

The mastery of “solid wood” processing pushed him into the creation of large sculptures.

The teacher Ermanno Nason he projects himself with enthusiasm and courage into his work by proposing a wide variety of masterpieces.
